Highland Park ISD schools: a campus-by-campus Park Cities relocation guide

Eight campuses across the HPISD community

Highland Park ISD's current school directory lists five Pre-K–4 elementary campuses, McCulloch Intermediate School for Grades 5–6, Highland Park Middle School for Grades 7–8, and Highland Park High School for Grades 9–12.

The district says it serves the 6.21-square-mile area of Highland Park, University Park and a small part of North Dallas. Because attendance depends on the exact property address, a relocation guide should help with geography without pretending to replace the district's own enrollment and boundary information.

HPISD history and the Park Cities

HPISD says the district first opened in October 1914 in a four-room building on Cornell Avenue. Today the district operates eight campuses, and its school network is part of the everyday geography of Highland Park and University Park.

McCulloch Intermediate and Highland Park Middle share the Granada Drive site where the original Highland Park High School opened in 1922. HPISD opened the current shared intermediate/middle-school campus in 1995. Boone Elementary opened in 2020 and was the district's first new elementary campus since 1949.

Do not confuse neighborhood marketing with school eligibility

Real-estate descriptions often use broad labels such as Park Cities, Highland Park area or University Park area. Those labels are useful for orientation, but they do not establish a school assignment. Families should use HPISD's current enrollment and attendance information for the exact property they are considering.

Moving from one Park Cities address to another

A short-distance move can still affect school logistics, commute patterns and elementary attendance. Confirm the new address first, then build the move timeline around closing, school dates, packing and utilities. If the family is moving from a Park Cities home into an Uptown or Turtle Creek high-rise, add building access, COI and elevator requirements to the plan as well.
