    Packing Services

We Pack It Like It’s Ours.

Packing is where most moves go wrong. A rushed crew, cheap materials, no system — and suddenly a $4,000 lamp is in pieces. That’s not how we work.

Professional Packing in Dallas — The Details

Full Pack, Partial Pack, or Fragile-Only — Choosing the Right Level

Professional packing is not one product. Most Dallas households need one of three levels, and picking the right one is the difference between paying for work you did not need and running out of time the night before the move.

    Full pack

Professional packers box the entire home — every room, closet, garage, and cabinet — usually over one to three days before move day. Best for large homes, tight timelines, corporate relocations, and anyone who simply does not want to do it.

    Partial pack

You handle clothing, books, and everyday items; we take the kitchen, china, glassware, art, mirrors, electronics, and anything else where a packing mistake is expensive. This is the most common choice and usually the best value.

    Fragile-only pack

A focused session on the genuinely breakable: stemware, dishes, framed art, lamps and shades, TVs, and decorative glass. Often done the day before the move alongside your own packing.

We will tell you honestly which level your home needs. If a partial pack will do, we are not going to sell you a full pack.

Packing Materials and Why They Matter More Than Technique

Most damage in a move is not caused by a drop. It is caused by movement inside a box that was under-filled, over-filled, or built from the wrong material.

    • Double-wall dish barrels for china, stemware, and ceramics, with cell dividers where the pieces call for it.
    • Unprinted newsprint and packing paper for wrapping — printed newspaper transfers ink onto china, glass, and light-colored surfaces.
    • Wardrobe boxes with hanging bars so clothing arrives on the hanger instead of folded into a bag.
    • Corrugated mirror and art cartons, telescoping and adjustable, for framed pieces and glass.
    • Foam pouches, corner protectors, and bubble for electronics, lamps, and irregular shapes.
    • Custom crating for high-value art, sculpture, stone, and oversized glass where a carton is not enough protection.

Boxes are packed to the top and filled to the corners so nothing shifts, taped along the seam and the edges, and weighted for the contents — books in small cartons, linens in large ones, never the other way around.

Labeling and Inventory: What Makes Unpacking Fast

Every carton is labeled with its destination room and a short contents description on more than one side, so the label is readable however the box is stacked. Fragile cartons are marked and loaded on top tiers, never underneath.

The reason this matters is not the pack — it is the week after. A labeled, room-coded load unloads directly into the right rooms and you can find the coffee maker on night one. An unlabeled load becomes a garage full of anonymous boxes that takes a month to resolve.

If you want specific cartons opened first, tell the crew lead at the start of the pack and we will mark them as a priority set.

When to Book, and What Happens on Packing Day

Book packing two to four weeks ahead of your move date, and more in the late-May-to-August peak. A full pack on a four-bedroom home is realistically a two-day job, not something to squeeze into the morning of the move.

On the day, the crew arrives with all materials, works room by room, and leaves the beds, bathrooms, and anything you need overnight for last. You do not need to be present for every room, but it helps to be reachable for the keep-or-toss questions that always come up.

One thing to plan for: pack a personal box yourself with medication, chargers, documents, a change of clothes, and anything you cannot go a day without, and keep it out of the load entirely.

Unpacking, Debris Removal, and What Happens After

Packing services are only half the problem. Unpacking is available as a separate service — cartons opened, contents placed on flat surfaces or into cabinets and closets by room, and the empty boxes and used paper hauled away the same day rather than left in your garage.

For households where the new home is not ready yet, packed contents can go into climate-controlled storage and be delivered when you are. And when the pack is part of a full relocation, our white-glove moving service and specialty and piano moving cover the rest of the job.

DIY Packing vs. Professional Packing — an Honest Comparison

Packing yourself saves labor cost and nothing else. You still buy materials, and a typical three-bedroom home is somewhere between 20 and 40 hours of work spread across evenings and weekends, done at the same time you are handling everything else a move requires.

Professional packing costs more up front and buys back that time, plus the protection standard that comes from people who do it daily. The honest middle ground — and what most of our clients choose — is a partial pack: you take the easy volume, we take the fragile and the valuable.

If you are packing yourself, our room-by-room packing guide and packing supply guide cover the same methods our crews use.
