About ESD
ESD was founded in 1974 by the Reverend Stephen B. Swann and local leaders, beginning with a small group of seventh-grade students.
The school combines college-preparatory academics with chapel, arts, athletics, outdoor experiences, leadership and service.
How the school fits into a Dallas home search
The Merrell Road campus sits west of the Preston Road corridor, so families can reasonably compare Preston Hollow, Bluffview, Midway Hollow and nearby North Dallas neighborhoods.
Because ESD serves students from beginner age through grade 12, a relocation can be planned around a long school horizon rather than a single division transition.
Relocating around an independent school
Private-school enrollment does not work like a public attendance boundary. A family can compare several neighborhoods and choose the home that best balances school access, work commute, housing style, other children's schools and daily life. The best answer is often a corridor rather than one ZIP code.
Stonebriar does not represent the school and does not set or interpret its admission rules. Confirm current admission, calendar, transportation and campus information directly with the school before making a housing decision.
