The original Parkland Hospital was built on this 8-acre site in 1894 — a wooden structure replaced by brick in 1913, with wings added in 1921 and a nurses dormitory in 1922. After the hospital relocated to Harry Hines Boulevard in the 1950s, the campus sat largely vacant for decades.
In 2006, Harlan Crow of Crow Holdings acquired the property for $16.5 million and began a painstaking renovation that would turn a derelict historic landmark into what D CEO magazine called “the most exclusive — and expensive — office campus in Dallas.” The project eventually exceeded $300 million in total investment.
What Old Parkland Looks Like Today
Picture an Ivy League campus dropped into Oak Lawn. Jeffersonian-style buildings — low-rise, brick, with classical columns — surround manicured lawns shaded by massive trees. Rodin sculptures and other provocative works dot the grounds. Inside, the buildings feature intricately laid wood floors, 18th-century paintings, and historical artifacts tucked into every nook.
Crow’s vision was “low buildings, low density, and a lot of trees.” The campus was zoned for towers but deliberately kept intimate. The result feels less like a commercial office park and more like a private institution — which is exactly the point.

Old Parkland continues to grow. Crow added three new office buildings — Resolute Tower, Providence Hall, and Endeavor Hall — expanding the campus eastward along the Dallas North Tollway. These aren’t ordinary office towers; they maintain the low-rise, campus-style character of the original development.
The expansion attracted major tenants including Polsinelli, which consolidated 120+ attorneys and staff onto a single floor spanning roughly 285,000 square feet across the three new buildings. The campus now operates as a self-contained financial district within Oak Lawn.
